The course will allow even Students who have not specific knowledge on the subject to reach the indicated educational objectives. There is no preliminary knowledge required.
Objectives
Contents The course contents will be based on a broad theoretical-conceptual and operational articulation on the professional social service between theory, research and interventions, with the aim of presenting the main methodological questions of aid and social intervention. The method and the reference models of the professional social service, the help relationship and its phases, the aid process and its methodological phases will also be explained. Great importance will be given to trifocality and networking, with the illustration of the main tools for aid in social work. Also the subsidiarity and its institutional dimensions in the Welfare system will have a prominent place during the lessons, together with the identification of the different areas and profiles of the socio-health integration, in its normative and methodological aspects.
Extended Syllabus The program of the course includes, in detail, the following topics:
1. The professional social service between theory, research and interventions.
2. Methodological questions of aid and social intervention.
3. The method and the reference models of the professional social service.
4. Discomfort, coping, help.
5. Evidence and narration in applied welfare research.
6. Sociology and professional social service. The aid relationship and its phases. The role identity and professional rationality of the social worker. 7. From the social secretariat to the intervention project.
8. The aid process and its methodological phases.
9. Trifocality and networking.
10. The tools for aid in social work. 11. Documentation: social folder and social report.
12. Social service techniques: the interview, the home visit.
13. Welfare and social and health integration.
14. Subsidiarity and its institutional dimensions in the Welfare system.
15. Areas and profiles of social and health integration: regulatory and methodological aspects.
16. From models to intervention practices for the protection and service to the person.

Methods of Provision
Teaching Methods The course includes 36 hours of lessons divided into 3 weekly lessons of 2 hours. Teaching will be offered through lectures, educational seminars with the participation of experts and professionals, use of lecture notes, slides and other in-depth scientific and bibliographical material during the lessons, also on an e-learning platform made available by the Teacher.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Verification: Oral examination, carried out through questions concerning the teaching program carried out by the lecturer in the classroom and the topics of the texts foreseen therein and treated during the lessons.
Evaluation: votes expressed in thirtieths.
The examination procedures are the same for attending and non-attending students.
