INTEGRATED COURSE IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN Integrated educational activity
Course Sheet Academic Year of enrolment:
Hours of classroom activity:
Prerequisites:
Successfully sustained the examination of "Elements of Construction
Technology" and of “Representation Sciences” and “History”
Objectives
Contents The integrated course aims to create the ability to develop design hypotheses based on architectural and constructive coherence.
To this end, the integrated course provides on the one hand specific activities relating to the individual disciplines, on the other hand it provides further moments of elaboration carried out in an interdisciplinary form, aimed at perfecting the compositional and constructive choices of the project.
These activities will take place in particular on the basis of a shared design theme, with reference to will be apllied the specific methods and tools of each discipline.
Extended Syllabus The student, through design experimentation, will be led to acquire the ability to govern the system of relations between the use of materials, the construction procedure and figurative results related to architecture.
In particular, it is necessary to know and apply the methodological and operational tools necessary to respond adequately to the needs of architectural and technological design, through the management of functional, physical and figurative aspects.

Teaching Methods The course will take place in an integrated way between the teachings of architectural composition and architectural technology.
The final exam will be rigorously unique and contemporary for the two
teachings.
Each discipline will also develop specific seminars or exercise activities aimed at preparing the student for the collegiate activities.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The final exam will consist in the presentation of the summary materials of the project activities carried out within the integrated course, and of the in-depth studies developed in the single courses (intermediate elaborations).
The final summary materials must show the comparison and the integration of the acquired knowledge.
It will be up to the students to demonstrate the relationships between the two subject areas.
Contacts/More Information The integrated course requires compulsory participation, with a minimum attendance of each student at 70% of the lessons and exercises.
Exercise activities can be developed in groups. Each group can have a maximum of three members.
It is advisable to formalize registration for the course within the first 2 weeks of the lesson.
