The course of Architectural Composition is aimed at the study and the
understanding of the basic compositional techniques for the design of
simple architectural organisms. The course is divided into two parts. In
first part there are readings and interpretations of references
elementary architecture. In the second part, those same architectural references
constitute the basis for the design of small spaces referred to
assigned architectural-functional programs. The architectural space,
both in the reading phase, both in the interpretation phase and in the more
properly of project repurposing, it is broken down into his own
primary components with particular reference to: horizontal elements,
basements, floors and coverings; vertical elements, walls and walls
diaphragms; punctual elements, warping, structures and connections. These
components will be investigated as well as in their physical size and
spatial organization, also in their material consistency e
constructive, trying to highlight the often very obvious relationship between
forms, materials and technologies. The project, therefore, is configured as a sort of conclusive balance
in which the measurement of the individual construction elements is integrated e
the size of the spaces they enclose, within a strategy
compositional able to satisfy the reasons of the program
assigned architectural-functional.
