Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites. For successful learning, the minimum familiarity with the digital environment for daily use is already considered acquired.
Objectives
Contents The course is aimed at training the student through the acquisition of a general interdisciplinary "digital awareness", in relation to a personal social and professional context of reference. The acquisition of the knowledge and practical features of the subject matter pertain to information theory and digital communication - to the coding, creation and management of digital data - to ICT elements (software and hardware) - to the principles of operation and use of the SO and of the SAs - to the networks and the Web applications - to the elements of IT law - to the legal protection of the creation, use and transmission of digital data. The path then follows the "Digital Humanities", as a method of understanding and applying digital methods in different areas of productivity and individual interest, or "ratione materiae". A "critical" and conscious approach, as well as the knowledge of systems, methods and infrastructures develop "computational thinking" as a general working method.
Extended Syllabus Information theory and digital communication - digital revolutions - coding, creation and management of digital data - elements of ICT (software and hardware) - operating principles and use of SO and SA - networks and Web applications - elements of law IT - legal protection of digital data (creation - protection - use - transmission - purpose of the data).
Recommended Bibliography The teaching material is made available by the teacher in the "teaching materials" section of the University portal. Additional material and indications and topics for further study are provided during the lessons
Teaching Methods Lectures, simulations and practical exercises in the computer lab. Slides and practical demonstrations are offered during lessons. During the course, seminars may be proposed on specific topics which, due to their relevance, suggest useful reflections to understand the subject.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Written exam by means of digital tools, with judgment of suitability pertaining to the practical test carried out in the laboratory. The exam covers the theoretical and practical elements addressed in the course and the judgment pertains to the student's concrete way of creating / managing digital data, aiming to verify the mastery of the subject and the methods acquired.
Contacts/More Information The frequency of the course and the possibility of taking the exam depend on the Study Plan and on the organization of the individual student's degree course. "Logistic" indications are made by the Instructor at the beginning of the Course in relation to the number of students and the availability of the University structures. Students are invited to consult the Ud'A website.
