Extended Syllabus The framework of the reflection on the importance of intercultural pedagogy in today's society will focus on the historical-epistemological and normative aspects, the effects in terms of personal emancipation and social development, which arise from educational interventions. It is now clear that in order to respond adequately to the educational needs posed by the new dynamics complex society, it has become necessary to redefine the statutes and traditional principles of pedagogical knowledge. In particular, it is the intercultural education that provides the appropriate tools to manage the multiplicity of relationships and dynamics underlying the new multicultural reality fostering the development of identities open to mediation and constructive dialogue with other cultures.
The most recent findings in pedagogical research highlight the importance of training in democracy, which becomes a pregnant value of the society that is being created, making interculturalism the prerogative of all and that this is a reason for of substantial equality and equal opportunities. The path to the full realisation of an intercultural society is still long and fraught with difficulties and resistance. It is, however, an ethical and ethical and political commitment that all institutions and members of civil societies must make.
It will be important to reflect on pedagogical principles and values as well as educational practices, which are necessary to design and implement not only a peaceful civil coexistence between different peoples in terms of language, culture, ethnicity, but to provide adequate cognitive tools to manage the new socio-cultural scenarios.
