The course expects students to already have a basic knowledge of clinical neuropsychology.
Objectives
Contents The course provides advanced knowledge and skills in the field of assessment and rehabilitation in clinical neuropsychology.
By training critical thinking in both theoretical and applied fields, the course provides the necessary tools for successful integration into multidisciplinary clinical and applied research teams.
The course consists of two parts. The first and most extensive part concerns the global and specific assessment of the various cognitive functions, with an in-depth study dedicated to the assessment of executive functions. The second part covers the basic principles of neuropsychological rehabilitation and the guidelines for the efficacy evaluation, with in-depth study dedicated to the rehabilitation of some syndromes and deficits.

- Assessment of instrumental functions (language, apraxia, visual-perceptual functions and spatial cognition).

Part 2. Neuropsychological rehabilitation.
- Cerebral plasticity and functional recovery after lesion
- General principles of rehabilitation and efficacy evaluation
- Rehabilitation of hemispatial neglect

Methods of Provision
Teaching Methods The course lasts 60 hours and the programme is delivered through lectures, using Power Point slides (provided), demonstrations of the use of neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation tools, and practical exercises.
Attendance is optional but strongly recommended.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The knowledge acquired and its understanding and critical integration are tested by means of an oral interview.
