The course aims to introduce the student to the understanding of the mechanisms that underlie evolutionary theories and their development in the light of new knowledge.
The course pays particular attention to the implications of the evolutionary process during embryonic development and in the first years of life.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student must have acquired sufficient knowledge to understand the evolutionary mechanisms that are the basis of human behavior, as well as have the ability to develop, based on bio-evolutionary research, a critical path between the origins of evolutionary thought andmodern ones visions that integrate different disciplines such as genetics and especially epigenetics, which flow into a unitary thought, linking evolution to the development of the human being.
Furthermore, by acquiring the language of the discipline, the student should be able to develop in-depth paths and to discuss the themes characterizing the teaching.
