Objectives
Contents In the course, the basic topics of the subject will be tackled:
chronological and geographical contexts, issues on the periodization of Late Antiquity and Early Medieval Age, characteristics and development of funerary areas, the changes of the urban landscapes, the architectural monuments, the analysis of written sources and the investigation of the archaeological contexts, the rural landscapes and the artifacts.
Extended Syllabus Settlements, urbanism, material culture, religion and society between Late Antiquity and Early Middle Age.
Issues on the definition and the periodization
Late ancient and early medieval burials.
Grave goods and burial rites
Urban landscape in Late Antiquity and Early medieval Age
Christianisation of Urban and Rural Space
