Objectives
Contents The course will focus on the object and scope of moral philosophy; various competing moral theories, from ancient to contemporary times, will be discussed. A work by H. Arendt, containing his lessons at the New School for Social Research (1965-1966), will be examined, devoting special attention to her reflections on the problem of evil.
Extended Syllabus Module 1 (20 h): introduction to the course. The object and scope of morality; the various competing models and theories.
Module 2 (20 h): the problem of evil in H. Arendt's thought.
Recommended Bibliography -A good manual of moral philosophy, exposing the various competing moral theories from the antiquity to our present time.
