Objectives
Contents The course includes the introduction to linguistic-cultural mediation in the commercial sphere. Students will learn about the theoretical and practical aspects of the role of the linguistic and cultural mediator and will be introduced to the learning of negotiation interpretation techniques and, in particular, of dialogic interpretation. The skills necessary for the linguistic mediator will be developed through analysis exercises, synthesis and reformulation of the speech, concentration exercises, selective listening and memorization, and visual translation exercises.
Extended Syllabus The course consists of five modules presenting hypothetical situations of a business trip to Russia:
1. A business trip to Russia
- Departure for the foreign country by different means of transport.
2. Meeting with business partners
- Arrival at destination and welcome by partners.
3. In Moscow
- Accommodation.
4. Presentation of the company
- Meeting with colleagues and company presentation.
5. The business of the company
- Description of the areas of activity of the company.

Teaching Methods The course is based on the use of an integrated method: communicative approach, teamwork, mnemonic exercises, simulation of real situations that require the intervention of a linguistic mediator. During the year, multimedia aids (computer screenings, films, audio recordings) and authentic materials (magazines and publications in the language) will be used.
The course includes a total of 150 hours, divided as follows: 36 hours of frontal teaching + 114 hours of self-work at home.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
A final oral test of dialogical interpretation similar to those carried out in class during the course is scheduled. The oral exam is evaluated in thirtieths. The student can choose to take the oral exam in one of the three sessions.
