Contents Psychopathology: description and research approaches. Causal and risk factors of behavior and psychopathology. Assessment and diagnosis in clinical psychology. Stress in physical and mental health. Anxiety disorders: panic, generalized anxiety, OCD and phobias. Mood disorders: depression and bipolar disorder. Somatization disorders. Eating disorders. Personality disorders. Sexual disorders.
Extended Syllabus Psychopathology: abnormality, assessment and diagnosis. Culture and abnormality. Research designs in clinical psychology. Information sources in clinical psychology. Causal and risk factors in psychopathology. Integration perspectives in the psychosomatic approach. Stress and its influences on somatic and mental health. Stress, emotions and immunity. Neurobiology and psychology of anxiety. Anxiety disorders: panic, generalized anxiety, OCD and phobias. Neurobiology and psychology of mood. Mood disorders: depression and bipolar disorder. Somatization disorders: somatic symptom disorder, illness anxiety disorder and conversion disorder. Eating disorders: anorexia, bulimia and binge eating. Personality disorders: clusters A, B and C. Sexual disorders: socio-cultural influences, sexual dysfunctions, gender dysphoria and paraphilia.

Teaching Methods The course is scheduled in 64 hours of in-class teaching in sessions of 2 or 3 hours based on the academic schedule. In-class sessions will be constituted by discussing theoretical aspects and clinical features of normal and abnormal behavior and differential diagnosis in psychopathology. The attendance is not mandatory.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The exam will be constituted by a written task aimed to assess the knowledge, the conceptual mastery, the linguistic skills, the ability of interpretation and analysis of psychotherapeutic processes. The exam will be evaluated on a score range from 18 to 30. A score 18-23 indicates a sufficient knowledge, 23-28 a good level of knowledge, 28-30 an excellent knowledge, "cum laude" particular abilities of analysis and critical reasoning.
