The language course provides students with a thorough grounding in the study of grammar, language style, and terminology concerning the field of psychology. Focusing on language, the students’ knowledge of English grammar and style will be strengthened according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). With reference to grammar, the course will focus on past tense, future, modals, passive voice, and conditionals. An indepth look at the style of English Scientific/Academic Writing will be provided.
Besides grammar, real scientific discourse will be examined in research papers from a linguistic perspective.
To conclude, special emphasis will be given to psychological terminology and style pertaining to readings and reading-comprehensions specific for health professionals.
