Prerequisites:

Knowledge of fundamental concepts of developmental psychology (briefly treated during first lessons).

Objectives

Advanced knowledge of the different aspects of linguistic and communicative development in normal and pathological conditions. Knowledge of theories about linguistic development.

Contents

Vocal and gestural communication; Lexical and syntactic development. The linguistic disorders: development and assessment.

Extended Syllabus

Vocal and gestural communication: vocalization, gestures, from babbling to the first words, lexical development, semantic development. The first word-combinations : description and interpretation of the phenomenon, the development of morphosyntactic skills. The development of narratives and the ability to produce and understand texts. The language disorder. Instruments for linguistic evaluation, with practical experience.
