Objectives
Contents Occupational medicine is a preventive medicine aimed at safeguarding the health of workers which, in addition to medical acts, involves an action of evaluation and control of the release of dangerous substances in the workplace, with positive repercussions for the environment and for sustainable productivity. It makes use of epidemiological and toxicological data, as well as the most advanced specialized medical knowledge. In particular, the control of the industrial working environment from the toxicological point of view is one of the main objectives to acquire skills to conduct research and analysis on potential contaminants and levels of exposure to try to adopt new strategies in order to define the changes to be applied. of the surrounding environment (prevention of large industrial risk). This recovery and restoration of environmental conditions is of fundamental importance, since the environment must be considered as a factor that can directly affect the health of workers and also of their families and the general population. In particular, chemical and chemical-pharmaceutical processes. They represent the fourth fourth industrial sector and potential sources of release into the environment of contaminants with biological activity, active ingredients and metabolites / derivatives. The course aims to train professionals able to collaborate with specialists in the prevention and management of exposure to these substances.
