The Degree Course in Social Research, Security Policies and Crime aims to contribute to the formation of a specialized cultural and professional profile which, characterized by a solid sociological, criminological, political and statistical analysis knowledge, together with specific historical knowledge. -philosophical, anthropological and legal, can operate in the sectors of social analysis, with particular reference to the problems of security and crime incident in the complex scenarios of contemporary society. This complexity requires cultural and professional figures capable of intervening within the social, political and administrative world (carrying out analyzes and planning of policies and interventions for social security and for the prevention and contrast of crime) and of the justice system, in articulated purposes of ascertaining the fact, gathering evidence and reconstructing the criminal scenario. To train this type of professional figure, solid knowledge of social sciences is required and therefore sociological, political, criminological, juridical, political, statistical and historical-philosophical.The cultural and professional profile of reference is, on the one hand, in line with the profiles envisaged by the three-year degree in Sociology and Criminology (L-40) already present at the University, on the other, it supports it in the direction of the profiles provided by the bachelor's degrees in political science. These profiles find optimal conditions of realization in this interclass, which puts in synergy the development potential of the socio-criminological, juridical-political, statistical and historical-philosophical fields of the degree class LM-88 and of the degree class LM-62 .In fact, the master's degree obtained in this inter-class course allows a profitable insertion into the world of work as expert specialists in public and private bodies, allowing access to public administration competitions (local bodies, regions, ministries), as well as and managers in the body of the State Police and the Department of Penitentiary Administration, as in many other state sectors dependent on the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the Interior.
