Objectives
Contents The course focuses on the presentation of Egyptian dialect and includes the introduction to Egyptian Literature written in dialect.
Extended Syllabus The course focuses on the introduction to the main notions of Egyptian dialect, with the study of the main differences with Modern Standard Arabic: phonetic characteristics; syntax of the sentence and main grammatical rules. During the course non-literary texts in Egyptian dialect with gradual and progressive difficulty will be analyzed, in addition to interviews, dialogues and songs in dialect. Then the course introduces the study of literary works written in dialect.

Teaching Methods The course is structured in 60 hours of frontal teaching and includes listening to interviews, dialogues and songs in dialect, in addition to specific seminars on the topics studied during the lectures.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Regarding the modalities of the exam, it consists of a written test (dictation, short composition and exercises) and an oral interview. The total score in thirtieths will be given by the average of the marks obtained in the two respective parts.
