The course aims to offer a broad overview of culture and institutions of the Russian-speaking territories of the USSR and the contemporary Russian Federation, with historical insights and various considerations on some aspects of the socio-cultural life of the Russian Federation and cultural bilateral relations between Italy and Russia. The aim of the course is identified in the acquisition of the essential historical, geographic, anthropological, social and artistic knowledge and the tools which are necessary to understand the complexity of contemporary Russian culture.
At the end of the course, students will have acquired the fundamental notions relating to the history of Russian culture and the essential elements connoting the identity of the Russian people, essential premises for a conscious start to transcultural dialogue.
