Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide the ability to place, at an historical level, the artistic expressions of the 1900s and the understanding of the creative processes of movements and artists, in relation to the historical and social context. The course aims to acquire the knowledge of techniques and media, to understand the languages and meanings of contemporary art and to achieve a confidence with artistic creation.

Contents

The course is aimed at students of the second year of the Triennal Degree. It aims to offer a key reading of the historical-artistic events of the 1900s and the early 2000s, also in relation to design and the most current issues, with a cross-cutting, focused in the development of an independent capacity of creation, through the meeting and exchange with artists and curators.

Practice workshop with visit to museums and galleries.

Evaluation methods

Verification of learning:

Final oral examination. There will be one or two practical workshops with the presentation of a final paper, to be carried out in groups.
