Objectives
Contents The main issues in the theoretical debate of Translation
Studies, focusing on the linguistic, cultural and educational aspects of
translation.
Extended Syllabus - The growing importance of translation studies as a rapidly expanding field which examines the close relationships between language and culture, language and art, and broad questions of intercultural exchange.
- Introduction to a variety of issues focused on how to approach translation projects including a study of text types and genres, issues on linguistic register, considerations of the target audience and strategies of compensation.
- Pre-translation and post-editing phase.
- Theoretical and applied aspects of the translation in the field of language teaching;
- MT translation and CAT (with practical exercises).
