From the "century of humiliation" to "Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era". Historical narration and political discourse from the 19th to the 21st century.
What is the "thought of Xi Jinping on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era"? And how does it fit within the broader ideological path that begins with the Opium Wars? And what was the role of Marxism-Leninism in China in the early twentieth century? Some excerpts selected from the recent essay by Jian Shigong 强 世 功, law professor of Beida, will be translated and analyzed with the dual aim of identifying some key issues and concepts of contemporary political thought and retracing the political history of China from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day.
