The teaching contributes to the realization of the educational objectives of the Degree Course in Philology, Linguistics and Literary Traditions.
It aims to form solid knowledge and methodologies in the field of research, with reference to the History of theater and its protagonists, also for future possible uses in publishing houses, specialized newspapers and magazines, public and private research institutes, theaters, museums, and for possible access to doctoral programs.
Knowledge
At the end of the course students must be able to critically analyze the main theatrical sources of the contemporary age, from textual documents (reviews, scripts, correspondence, memoirs, etc.) to iconographic and audiovisual materials, with particular reference to the methodology of reconstruction of production systems and the history of the actors.
Autonomy of judgment
Students will have to acquire sufficient skills to carry out the historical-critical analysis of a theatrical show of consolidated stage tradition in the context of italian performing arts of the 20th century.
They will also have to acquire sufficient skills to independently propose ideas of reflection on the basic historiographical issues relevant to the discipline.
Communication skills
Students must be able to explain with appropriate and clear vocabulary the events and problematic issues of the history of 20th century Italian theater. They must be able to explain to specialists and non-specialists.
