Aim of the course is to provide knowledge and competence on theoretical models and clinical practice in clinical psychology. The course will be oriented toward a strict clinical approach by introducing clinical situations issued from experiences of psychological consultations. The feedback procedures will be emphasized as a mean for being in touch with the patient’s feeling states and suffering. Clinical cases will be discussed within the group by paying attention to the differences between the settings of psychological consultation and psychotherapy.

Learning outcomes:
The course aims to complete the training with notions and instruments that will help the student to deepen the psychological aspects of clinical psychology. The training of the course of Clinical and Health Psychology will be achieved and enriched by the following competencies:
Knowledge and comprehension skills
- to describe the psychological determinants of the referrals;
- to describe the fundamental characteristics of psychological consultation;
- to know the main theoretical models of personality functioning.
Judgment autonomy
- to link psychological constructs and analysis of the referral process;
- to assess the referral questions.
Communication skills
The student will be able to:
- relate psychological models to the referral process;
- plan psychological interventions.
