Objectives

To be familiar with basic gender distinction and the problems of sexual identity, Sexual identity diffusion as in borderline pathologies. To have some basic distinctions in the formation and understanding of sexual pathology and perversion. Contemporary discussion of gender disforia as in DSM 5, the complexities of homosexualities and the transgender condition.

Contents

Affects, emotions and relations in human sexuality.
The influence (if any) of sexuality on pathology and viceversa (Freud).Oedipus Complex and Beyond.Pre-Oedipal pathologies.
The formation of gender form social and cultural constructs i(Gianini Bellotti; Butler). Gender and identity. Transessualisms. Biing males, being females.Homosexualities.. DSM 5 and gender Disforia. Sexuality and the Body between Nature and Culture. Love Erotism and pleasure.

Extended Syllabus

From the first books of Freud on Sexuality to Kernberg and Khan on perversion and "normality" in love relations. Major authors in psychoanalysis (Khan, Stoller, kernnerg) to present time attitudes and regulations towards the treatment of LGBT people.
