Objectives
Contents The Architectural Composition 3 course aims to understand and design a public building.
Obviously this entails first of all being aware of what a public space is in general, its role in society, its role in urban design and landscape, its close relationship with infrastructural networks at whatever scale they are intended, its structure, its functional program, and obviously the aesthetics that will ultimately represent it.
During the course the teacher will try to deliver to the students input from different disciplines, from the most technical to the more humanistic and artistic ones in general.
Extended Syllabus The courses of architectural composition 3 courses begin with a workshop that runs from 6 September to 11 September 2021, which has several purposes, including two main ones:
- introduce the topic of the actual course which will start at the end of February 2022;
- introduce students to the basic elements of the design of a public building;
The two courses A and B will begin with the activities leading to the final exam at the end of February 2022. Students will have the right to decide which course to attend based on their assessments, obviously aware of the fact that there must be a minimum of balance number among the subscribers.
Recommended Bibliography The reference texts are not intended as a list of things to be read compulsorily, but as a possible cultured place made up of intuitions and titles, on which a student can draw to satisfy their doubts and knowledge.

Bruno Zevi, Counterhistory
