Objectives
Contents The first year introduces the study of Modern Standard Arabic: alphabet, elements of grammar, morphology and syntactic notions. The course also introduces the culture of the Arab world.
Extended Syllabus Writing and phonetic system , Alphabet, vowels, definite and indefinite noun, roots of the words, , noun cases, connexation structure, gender and number, separate personal pronouns and suffix pronouns, demonstrative pronoun and interrogative particles, affirmative and negative nominal sentence, ways of translating the verb “to have”, regular verbs I form (basic form), verbal sentence, Kana, adjective.

Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Final examination: Written Test (dictation, grammar exercises, translation from Arabic into Italian and vice versa) and Oral Test (basic interview in Modern Standard Arabic on the topics covered during the lectures).
