Aim of the course is to provide knowledge and competence on theoretical models and clinical practice in addiction.
Learning outcomes:
The course aims to complete the training with notions and instruments that will help the student to deepen the psychological aspects of addiction.
Knowledge and comprehension skills:
- basic concepts in the addictions field; risk and protective factors for addiction; developmental trajectories of addictive behaviors; psychological models of help and treatment programs;
- overview of gambling behaviors; gambling and psychopathology; multidimensional assessment; etiopathogenic model of gambling disorder; current and future direction for research;
- acquisition of competencies necessary for working with addicted adults and adolescents both in individual and group settings.
Judgment autonomy
- to link psychological constructs and therapeutic outcomes;
- to assess the effectiveness of psychological intervention on addiction.
Communication skills
The student will be able to:
- relate psychological models to treatment techniques;
- plan psychological interventions.
