Objectives
Contents The course includes the completion of the morphosyntax program as well as the application of morphological-syntactic analysis to authentic and contemporary texts. The course aims a detailed study of the syntactic structures both of the simple proposition and the period and their synonymy, the improvement of some aspects of morphology and verbal and adjective syntax. The program includes written translation techniques from Russian to Italian and from Italian to Russian. Production skills written in Russian will also be developed with the necessary lexical enrichment and paying attention to the stylistic aspects of the language. Particular importance will be given to the development of the skills the linguistic mediator needs: analysis exercises, synthesis and reformulation of the speech, concentration exercises, selective listening and memorization, sight translation exercises.
Extended Syllabus The course consists of four modules: composition in Russian language; morphosyntax; Russian language mediation II; Russian-Italian translation.
1. Composition in Russian language
- Functional styles of the Russian language: structures and lexicon;
- Formal letter, private letter: essential elements.
2. Intermediate level morphosyntax
- Passive;
- Reflexive verbs and expressions of reflexivity and reciprocity;
- Verbs with prefixes;
- Classification of propositions and syntax elements of the subordinate sentence (objective, subjective, final, causal, concessive, temporal, spatial)
- Hypothetical period;
- Negative pronouns;
- Phraseology (proverbs, idioms, idiomatic expressions).
3. Russian-Italian linguistic-cultural mediation:
- Learning of the specialized vocabulary of the commercial field;
- Elements of Russian corporate culture;
- Consolidation of dialogic interpretation techniques.
4. Translation from Russian to Italian and from Italian to Russian:
- Elements of Russian-Italian contrastive grammar: name, verb, adjective, defined vs indefinite, word order;
- Asymmetry and equivalence in translation;
- Combinatory characteristics of words in the two languages.

Multimedia tools for translation ru-it will be indicated during the lessons.
Teaching Methods The course is based on the use of an integrated method: communicative approach, group work, description of grammar, consolidation and translation activities. During the year, multimedia aids (computer screenings, films, audio recordings) and authentic materials (magazines and publications in Russian) will be used. The course includes a total of 325 hours, divided as follows: 78 hours of frontal teaching + 247 hours of self-work at home. To the principal course, the hours of exercising with the lecturer are added.
The course consists of the following parts: Vocabulary and morphosyntax according to the program; Understanding and production of the written text; Understanding and production of the oral text; Written translation from and into the Russian language; Language of the Business communication.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
For attending students, 4 tests (2 for the L11) are scheduled during the year:
- guided composition in Russian with bilingual dictionary;
- grammar test including IT-RU translation of simple and complex sentences without dictionary to verify the knowledge of the morphosyntax of the course;
- RU-IT translation of an informative text of approx. 800 characters including spaces, with the possibility of using the bilingual dictionary (only L12);
- oral exam of Russian-Italian linguistic mediation (only L12).
Passing the tests allows direct admission to the oral exam. Written tests not passed during the year may be completed during the final written exam. The mediation test is held during the oral exam.
The oral exam consists of:
- reading and sight translation of passages in Russian language with logical analysis of the complex period;
- explanation in Italian of a topic of morphosyntax (also for the native Russian students);
- conversation on topics related to the readings proposed during the year (narrative and historical-cutural texts) and on a text prepared independently;
- interpretation of a bilingual commercial dialogue (only L12);
- conversation on the arguments introduced by the CEL during the exercises.
For non-attending students and for students of the supplementary year, there will be a written and an oral final exam of the same type.
The written exam / test is valid for three sessions. The student can choose to take the oral exam in the same session of the written exam or in one of the following two.

NATIVE RUSSIAN students and WORKERS students are required to contact the professors at the beginning of the course. Students who registered on supplementary year must refer to this program.
The teacher will be available for student reception once a week during the entire teaching period.
Students of Russian Language III of L11, who borrow the course from this teaching, must assimilate the contents of the program carried out in the first 36 hours of lectures + 114 of self-work at home, which correspond to 6 credits: they are Modules of Composition in Russian and Morphosyntax at intermediate level (see Extended Program).
The language exercises carried out by the CEL are an integral part of the course. Attendance of CEL exercises is highly recommended to achieve the levels of linguistic competence provided for by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and to pass the final language exam Lingua Russa III and Lingua, Mediazione e Traduzione RU-IT e IT-RU.
Before accessing the exam with the teacher, students will take the test according to the procedures established by the CLA. During the examination, the teacher will take into account the result achieved in formulating the final evaluation.
