Students should have a basic knowledge in Humanist-Renaissance literature.
Objectives
Contents Italian Literature and the press.
Extended Syllabus First and foremost the course aims to focus on the specific features of the Reinassance Italian literature as a whole, subsequently going into detail through reading and analysis of some texts.
Special attention will be dedicated to discussion of the critical interpretations given to these works over time, and to appreciation of the rhetorical-literary side of some authors, which is one of the distinctive elements of criticism.

The students who cannot be present in the classes during the course will study at home the following text:

Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
Oral test with marks out of thirty, consisting of an interview whose purpose is to assess both knowledge of contents and the student’s critical and methodological skills.

The exam may be taken individually (for 6 ECTS) or coupled with the course of Dante Studies (up to an overall 12 ECTS).
