Objectives
Extended Syllabus The course is divided into three parts.
The first part - The shape of the canzoniere in the tradition of the twentieth century (18 hours, 3 CFU) - analyzes the structural motive of the songbook in the poetic tradition of the twentieth century. The texts of the Quaderno gotico by Mario Luzi and of the Mottetti by Eugenio Montale will be examined. The analysis will focus on the metrical aspects, the tropes, the structure of the language of the hermetic poets. The verification of learning will be carried out by written test at the end of the module.
The second part - The Forms of Narrativity in Poetry of the Sixties (12 hours, 2 CFU) - provides an overview of the linguistic and structural transformations that affect Italian poetry between the fifties and sixties, with particular reference to the grafting of dialogical and narrative modules that hybridize the monolingual compactness of pure poetry and open the poetic discourse to a variety of cultural suggestions (sociology, psychoanalysis, Marxism). Particular attention will be paid to the poemetti Il pensiero fluttuante della felicità by Mario Luzi and La ricchezza by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
The third part - Luigi Ballerini's poetic work (6 hours, 1 CFU) - is a monographic study of the formal and structural aspects studied in the previous modules, which in this case are applied to the reading and interpretation of a poetic experience, that of Luigi Ballerini, characterized by a lively and original elaboration of the practices of the neo-avant-garde which follows, in the last fifteen years, a recovery of "readability" and "narrativity" in the civil and didactic tension of neo-epic poetry. Some texts from the latest collections will be analysed.
