- Mid-term tests (translating sentences and short texts from Italian into Chinese and vicecersa, grammar exercises).
- Final written and oral exams. The written exam, of a two hours duration, consists in translating sentences from Italian into Chinese and translating a short text from Chinese into Italian (the use of dictionaries is not permitted). The oral exam consists in reading, translating and analysing (from a morpho-syntactic perspective) texts in both simplified and non-simplified characters (previously explained in class). In order to be admitted to the oral examination, students must have passed the written one. For the purposes of the final result (i.e. grade) of the exam, the written and oral examination are equally important. The final result, at the end of the oral exam, is expressed with a 30-point scale (passing: 18 to 30 cum laude).
