It is necessary to have completed the exams of French literature I and II, and to have a good knowledge of the history of French literature from the origins to the nineteenth century.
Objectives
Contents History of French literature from the late 19th century to the present.
Extended Syllabus The course includes the study of French literary history from 1870 to the present day, in particular some of the major currents of the 19th and 20th centuries: naturalism, symbolism, surrealism and the avant-garde. Through the analysis of various anthological excerpts in prose and poetry, the major authors of the reference period will be addressed.
