Objectives
Contents The course includes literacy and introduction of basic morphosyntactic structures of Russian language, in order to enable the student to understand and produce simple texts in the foreign language, concerning topics of a daily nature (see the "training objectives"), as well as elements of Russian cuisine, geography of Russia and history of the Russian language.
Extended Syllabus The course consists of the following parts:
1. Cyrillic alphabet, phonetics and spelling;
2. Lexikon and glossary;
3. basic morphology and syntax;
4. Comprehension and production of the written text;
5. Comprehension and production of the oral text;
6. Word formation in the Russian language (slovoobrazovanie).
Cyrillic alphabet, phonetics and spelling
Introduction of the Cyrillic alphabet uppercase, lowercase, italics and block letters; analysis of the corresponding phonemes and main rules of pronunciation; spelling rules.
Lexikon and glossary
Introduction of the basic vocabulary organized by thematic areas.
Basic Morphology and syntax:
- Declension in the singular and plural of nouns, adjectives and personal, questioning, possessive and demonstrative pronouns;
- Use of cases with and without the main prepositions;
- Cardinal and ordinal numbers (their use to express: hours, months, days, years, centuries);
- The reflexive pronoun svoj;
- The relative pronoun kotoryj;
- Conjugation of the verb to the present, past, future;
- Verbs with suffixes -yva - / - iva-, -va-, -ova - / - eva-, -nu-;
- Verbal aspect, basic concepts: training and use in the present, past and future;
- Verbs of motion without prefix;
- Verbs of motion with the prefix po;
- Verbs of motion with prefixes pri-, u-, v-, vy-;
- Imperative.
Comprehension and production of written texts:
Reading, translation and reprocessing of basic level texts. Composition of autonomous texts concerning the thematic areas introduced.
Comprehension and production of oral texts:
Listening, comprehension and re-elaboration of basic and elementary audio texts.
Composition of autonomous texts concerning the thematic areas introduced.
Word formation in the Russian language (slovoobrazovanie):
Introduction of the rudiments of the methods of word formation in the Russian language.

Teaching Methods The course includes 300 hours, divided as follows: 72 hours of lectures with the teacher + 228 hours of self-learning and homeworks + practice with the CEL.
The teaching is fulfilled through an integrated method: communicative approach, group work, description of grammar after students' autonomous preparation on new contents, fixation and consolidation activities, version of sentences and expressions from and to Russian language.
During the academic year will be used multimedia(computer projections, movies, audio recording) and authentic materials.
The course consists of the following sections:
1. Cyrillic alphabet and spelling;
2. Phonetics and intonation;
3. Basic vocabulary and basic morphology;
4. Comprehension and production of written texts;
5. Comprehension and production of oral texts;
6. Introduction to word formation in the Russian language.
Evaluation methods Verification of learning:
The exam consists of a written and an oral test.
Written exam: for the students attending lessons, the written exam is divided in 3 tests during the year, consisting of:
- grammar test
- short composition (on one of the topics discussed during the year).
The whole exam takes place without a dictionary.
Successful results in these tests allows access to the oral exam (see below). There are no forms of recovery of failed tests.
The oral exam consists of:
- reading, morphosyntactic analysis and sight translation of a short text in Russian;
- explanation in Italian of a topic of morphosyntax (also for students of Russian mother tongue);
- conversation on the topics of texts indicated during the lessons.
- conversation on the topics introduced by the CEL during the practice;
The oral examination can only be accessed after passing the written test and the CEL test.
For those students who have not passed the 3 tests during the year, for students not attending lessons and for the FC there will be a final written exam and an oral one of the same type.
The written exam is valid for three sessions. The student can choose to take the oral exam in the same session of the written exam or in one of the following two.
Assessment
The written and oral exam is evaluated in thirtieths, making the average of the marks obtained in the two parts.
Contacts/More Information The linguistic practice carried out by the CEL is an integral part of the course.
Attendance of lessons is strongly recommended.
Russian speaking students and working students are required to make contact with the teachers at the beginning of the course. Students OUT OF COURSE must refer to this program.
Tutoring hours: once a week during the entire teaching period.
