The degree course in Foreign languages and literature has traditional humanistic characteristics : both the various languages and literatures represent central and noteworthy aspects of culture considered in a broad sense, expression of history, of the territory and the social and artistic exhibitions of a specific nation.This degree course aims at developing graduates who hold solid basic training in linguistics and in Italian Language and Literature; excellent writing and speaking skills in at least two foreign languages, including knowledge of the cultural and literature heritage of which they are the expression; ability to use the main communication means in the specific areas of competences. So as to offer this training, this degree course includes not only language teachings but also, literature, philological, linguistic-didactic, historic, and artistic teachings, in addition to linguistic training activities aimed at achieving the fundamental skills required for inter-linguistic mediation for written and spoken languages whose cultures and literature are contextually studied. The foreign languages and literature included in this degree course are Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Portuguese and Brazilian, Russian, Serbian-Croatian, Spanish, German.This degree course forms professionals in the literary and general cultural fields, including the teaching career.
