Objectives
Contents The course allows students to broaden and deepen the knowledge acquired in the first year of studies with reference to German language and linguistics. It deals with morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatic features of German. It also deals with the issue of developing students’ linguistic and communicative competences according to level B1+ (CEFR).
Extended Syllabus 1. Verbs (weak, strong and irregular verbs):
- indicative future perfect;
- perfect infinitive active and passiv; haben. zu / sein. zu + infinitive; brauchen + infinitive;
- present and past participle; gerund and gerundive;
- Konjunktiv I, Konjunktiv II;
- passive;
- modal and semi modal verbs

Written and oral exam
Written exam: 1) grammar: true/false test; 2) reading comprehension: multiple choice, true/false, cloze tests; 3) a short composition.
Oral exam: 1) listening: multiple choice, true/false, cloze tests; 2) conversation in German; 3) oral test (in Italian) about the content-specific topics discussed during the lectures.
